Arlette CFE

Arlette Anguiano Guzman of Texas recently became a CFE after attending a virtual CFE Exam Review Course. Since Anguiano Guzman received her CFE credential, she quickly saw positive changes and she is now able to provide more insight on how to detect and prevent fraud within her organization. When Anguiano Guzman is not working, she enjoys traveling, looking for new plant nurseries, and purchasing rare plants.

Coach: When did you receive your CFE credential?

Guzman: I was certified on February 9, 2021.

Coach: Please describe your experience of attending the four-day virtual CFE Exam Review Course. What did you like most about the Review Course?

Guzman: It was a great experience. As a group, we were able to share information from different backgrounds, but the best part were the presenters. I really enjoyed all the sessions.

Coach: Please describe your experience of taking the CFE Exam each day after class.

Guzman: I truly believe that the best option is presenting the CFE Exam after the class, as you will have all the information fresh in your brain.

Coach: Did you review the CFE Exam Prep Course prior to attending the Review Course? If so, how often did you study?

Guzman: Yes, I did the CFE Exam Prep Course three times for each section. In most of the sessions, my score was at least 89. That made me feel very comfortable. For about two months, I usually studied a couple of hours per day after work, and it worked out well.

Coach: In what ways do you feel that your new CFE credential will be beneficial to you in your current profession?

Guzman: You can see the changes rapidly. You are more respected—professionally speaking—and personally, I was able to provide more insightful information at work, ideas on how to apply data analytics, and knowledge on how to detect and prevent fraud within my organization.

Coach: Would you recommend this Review Course to your colleagues?

Guzman: Of course. Most of the content, except for the Law section, is very intuitive, and in most of the cases, you just need to apply common sense.

Coach: How did you become passionate about fighting fraud?

Guzman: I am all about following the rules and exceeding expectations. I consider myself as having a high level of morals, values, and respect for other individuals and things, which fits perfectly with this certification. I felt really engaged all the time.

Coach: Now that we know what you do professionally, what do you like to do for fun, and what do you find enjoyable about it?

Guzman: I love being outdoors, which brings me the passion and the journey to purchase rare plants. I am constantly looking for new nurseries around the United States. The most compelling part of it is seeing how these plants have the ability to evolve and regenerate in different environments. I love to see them grow new leaves. And, of course, travel around the world!

Coach: Do you have any study tips or suggestions for aspiring CFEs?

Guzman: Definitely use the CFE Exam Prep Course, as it is a very useful tool and user-friendly. It will give you the ability to measure your knowledge and focus on the areas that you need to study more. I would also encourage you to read other materials, such as the Report to the Nations and other interesting publications from the ACFE. You will enjoy the journey!
