Q & A with Bridget Truxillo
/Bridget Truxillo, an attorney and former law enforcement officer, recently became a CFE after attending the CFE Exam Review Course in Houston, TX. Bridget enjoys spending her free time with her family, but this past February, she put some time aside for herself to accomplish her goal of obtaining the CFE credential. Becoming a CFE has provided Bridget with a higher level of credibility in her work as a fraud investigator.
Coach: When did you receive your CFE credential?
Truxillo: I was certified in January 2015.
Coach: You attended the CFE Exam Review Course in Houston and following the course you sat for the CFE Exam on-site. Please describe your experience of participating in the 4-day course and then sitting for the exam immediately after.
Truxillo: It was a very intense four days, with an immense amount of information. However, the instructors did a fantastic job of conveying what we really needed to know for the exam in order to succeed.
Coach: What did you like most about the CFE Exam Review Course? I particularly liked the instruction and that it was immediately followed by the exam on that particular subject.
Truxillo: It helped immensely to keep all of the information in order.
Coach: In what ways do you feel that your new CFE credential will be beneficial to you in your current profession?
Truxillo: It most certainly gives me a different level of credibility in my investigative work.
Coach: How did you prepare yourself to sit for the exam on-site? Did you spend any additional time studying after class each day?
Truxillo: I reviewed the information that the instructors told us to focus on throughout the day, and then took that day’s onsite exam.
Coach: Would you recommend this course to your colleagues?
Truxillo: I would most definitely recommend the course and onsite exams to anyone seeking the CFE credential.
Coach: How did you become passionate about fighting fraud?
Truxillo: As a former law enforcement officer, I strongly believe in right and wrong, as well as justice. As a fraud investigator, I am given the opportunity to continue to fight for justice.
Coach: Now that we know what you do professionally, what do you like to do for fun and what do you find enjoyable about it?
Truxillo: I enjoy spending time with my husband and my kids. I also enjoy yoga.
Coach: Do you have any study tips or suggestions for aspiring CFEs?
Truxillo: I suggest taking advantage of all the study tools available through the ACFE, and practice, practice, practice.
