Q & A with Maria Daughters
/Maria Daughters of Maryland recently attended the Nashville CFE Exam Review Course. During her free time, Maria enjoys traveling, working out, and watching movies, but Maria put some of that fun time aside to accomplish her goal of obtaining the CFE credential. The knowledge Maria received from using the study materials and attending the Review Course will help her sharpen her fraud detection and prevention skills, which are crucial to her success as a CPA.
Coach: When did you receive your CFE credential?
Daughters: I received my certification on November 7, 2014
Coach: You attended the CFE Exam Review Course in Nashville and following the course you sat for the CFE Exam on-site. Please describe your experience of participating in the 4-day course and then sitting for the exam immediately after.
Daughters: I enjoyed the four-day review course. I found the course material to be interesting and the instructors to be engaging and passionate regarding the subject material. It was great meeting other participants from different occupations and places.
Coach: What did you like most about the CFE Exam Review Course?
Daughters: Meeting new people with different viewpoints
Coach: In what ways do you feel that your new CFE credential will be beneficial to you in your current profession?
Daughters: I am a CPA, and detecting and preventing fraud are crucial aspects of the accounting world. Therefore, it’s very important to have as much knowledge as possible in the field.
Coach: How did you prepare yourself to sit for the exam on-site? Did you spend any additional time studying after class each day?
Daughters: For each section, I spent about eight hours reviewing the material before I attended the seminar and was actively involved in absorbing the material during class.
Coach: Would you recommend this course to your colleagues?
Daughters: Yes, I will recommend this course to my colleagues.
Coach: How did you become passionate about fighting fraud?
Daughters: I am a CPA, and fraud is unfortunately a huge issue in the field.
Coach: Now that we know what you do professionally, what do you like to do for fun and what do you find enjoyable about it?
Daughters: I enjoy traveling, working out, and watching movies. Nashville was an awesome place to visit.
Coach: Do you have any study tips or suggestions for aspiring CFEs?
Daughters: I suggest doing at a least a little bit of preparation before attending the course, so you know what to expect.
